About Casey
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Syracuse University and a Master's degree in Instructional Design from the State University of New York at Brockport.
I have experience as a tutor at both the high school and collegiate levels, and I have worked training adult learners in each of my three past professional roles.

I provide tutoring services for learners in sixth grade or above (including adult learners) who want to improve their mastery in one or more of the following math disciplines: Algebra, Probability, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus AB, Logic, and Number Theory.
Based on Bloom's Taxonomy, my tutoring approach identifies a learner's level of cognitive skill (remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, and create) in a subject and helps them reach the skill level that meets their needs. I also utilize Instructional Design principles to create digital artifacts that support the educational journey of my learners.
My typical lesson plan for a 1-hour session is as follows:
-Connect and catch-up, where I allow learners to discuss anything they wish unrelated to our subject (5 minutes)
-Going over any previous assignments and providing feedback on completed work (15 minutes)
-Working with my learner on the day's lesson plan, designed based on learner performance in previous sessions to help them advance their subject matter mastery (30 minutes)
-Short assessment activity based on the day's lesson OR additional time spent on the above activities (10 minutes)
Between sessions I assign activities for my learners to complete before the next session. Learners are encouraged to ask questions or seek assistance either via a reduced-rate "office hours" session or asynchronous communication.
