About Imogen
I am a 24 year old hailing from the Isle of Skye, currently living and working in Glasgow. I loved learning in school and was a curious student of many different disciplines, with maths being one of my most challenging subjects. Part of my interest and drive in the subject is a determination to understand what would not come naturally. This is what inspires me to teach others who may be at an earlier point on the same journey. I am experienced in youth leadership and teaching in outward bound activities, as well as through peer tutoring in secondary school. Upon graduating in Mathematics and Music from Glasgow University, I began working in the charity and music sectors. I am now in a flexible role which allows me to pick up a small number of tutees, and I am excited to meet new students both online and in person.

With extensive experience working with young people, I am particularly interested in connecting with HOW a student learns. As someone who leans more towards the humanities, my maths degree was a challenging, but enlightening exercise in how people who are less “mathsy” can think and work in order to excel. My skills lie both in building confidence in student’s core understanding of difficult concepts, and in offering advice on the most effective ways to study for success in exams.
