About Xavier
My fascination with mathematics began early, driven by curiosity about patterns, logic, and problem-solving. This led me to earn a B.Sc in Mathematics and an M.Sc in Applied Mathematics. Over 11 years, I have taught students at various levels, helping them gain conceptual understanding, analytical thinking skills, and confidence in tackling challenging mathematical problems.
I teach with clarity, patience, and structured guidance. Lessons combine visual demonstrations, stepwise explanations, and practical examples to ensure comprehension and encourage exploration. I foster independent thinking, curiosity, and problem-solving ability.
Outside teaching, I engage with mathematical research, modelling, and applied analysis to keep lessons relevant and insightful. Watching learners progress from uncertainty to mastery, developing confidence and enjoyment in mathematics, is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

Mathematics can be exciting and accessible when learners understand patterns, logic, and problem-solving strategies. My lessons focus on algebra, calculus, probability, geometry, and applied problem-solving, using visual aids, stepwise explanations, and real-life examples. I prioritise conceptual understanding over memorisation, helping students develop critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and confidence in approaching complex problems. Every session is designed to foster curiosity and independent exploration.
Lesson levels are customised. Beginners focus on arithmetic, basic algebra, and introductory geometry, establishing a strong foundation. Intermediate learners explore calculus, combinatorics, probability, and multi-step problem solving to enhance analytical skills. Advanced learners tackle abstract algebra, optimisation problems, and applied modelling, preparing for exams and real-world applications. Each class includes exercises, illustrative examples, and guided discussion to strengthen understanding and retention.
Beyond academics, mathematics lessons build structured reasoning, problem-solving ability, and confidence in analytical thinking. Students develop a systematic approach to challenges, enjoy exploring patterns, and see mathematics as a logical and rewarding discipline. My goal is to nurture learners who are both confident and proficient, capable of applying mathematical reasoning effectively in diverse contexts.
