About Abhi
I am a dedicated and enthusiastic Mathematics tutor with a strong academic background and practical teaching experience in the UK education system. I hold an M.Sc. in Mathematics from Northumbria University, where I developed advanced knowledge in areas such as mathematical modelling, differential equations, statistics, machine learning, and applied mathematics.
I am currently working as a Teaching Assistant at Pear Tree High School, where I support students with different learning needs and help them build confidence in their academic abilities. Alongside this, I also have worked through GSL Education and volunteer as a mathematics tutor with Action Tutoring, teaching Year 5 and Year 6 students and helping them improve their mathematical understanding and problem-solving skills.
My teaching approach is patient, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual learning style. I understand that many students find mathematics challenging, so I focus on explaining concepts clearly, step-by-step, and in a way that makes learning engaging and less stressful. I aim to create a positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in their abilities.
I work with students from primary level to GCSE and A-Level Mathematics, helping with exam preparation, homework support, and strengthening core mathematical foundations. My goal is not only to help students achieve better grades but also to help them enjoy learning and become confident, independent learners.

I believe every student can become confident in mathematics with the right guidance, patience, and practice. My teaching approach focuses on making mathematical concepts simple, clear, and easy to understand rather than just memorising formulae. I create a friendly and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.
My lessons are usually 60 minutes long and are structured according to the student’s needs and goals. I begin by identifying the student’s current level and areas they find difficult. I then explain concepts step-by-step using examples, visual explanations, and problem-solving techniques. After teaching a topic, we practise questions together and gradually move towards independent problem solving to build confidence and exam skills.
I adapt my teaching style for each student because everyone learns differently. For younger students, I focus on building strong fundamentals and confidence in arithmetic and basic algebra. For GCSE and A-Level students, I provide deeper conceptual understanding, exam preparation strategies, and practice with past paper questions. I also help students improve logical thinking and analytical skills, which are important for higher-level mathematics.
I hold an M.Sc. in Mathematics from Northumbria University and have experience working as a Teaching Assistant in UK schools through GSL Education, Teacher Active. I also volunteer as a mathematics tutor for Year 5 and Year 6 students through Action Tutoring. These experiences have helped me work with students from different academic backgrounds and learning abilities.
