About James
Hi everyone! I’m James, a Mathematics graduate from the University of Bath and currently working as an accountant. During my degree, I discovered a real passion for teaching and tutoring, and my long-term goal is to transition into tutoring full time. I love helping students build confidence, overcome challenges, and enjoy maths more than they ever expected. Outside of maths and work, I’m a big sports enthusiast. I’ve competed at national level in athletics, rugby, hockey, and football, and sport has played a huge role in shaping my determination, work ethic, and teamwork skills. These are qualities I bring into my tutoring: patience, discipline, and a positive, encouraging approach.

I offer engaging, personalised maths lessons from 30 minutes to over an hour, tailored to your goals and learning style. My teaching focuses on clear explanations, effective revision strategies, and exam-technique tips. Using the same methods that helped me achieve top grades in both GCSE (9) and A Level Maths (A*). I went on to study Mathematics at the University of Bath, where I joined the Communicating Maths programme and had the opportunity to deliver a mathematics masterclass to school students at the Royal Institution in London. I teach GCSE Maths, A Level Maths, and A Level Further Maths, and I’m passionate about helping students build confidence, develop problem-solving skills, and reach their full potential.
