I focus on building a strong relationship with my students, making sure the lessons are positive and animating. Maths is notorious as a subject that people set barriers to their own capabilities and potential in, and I know from personal experience how inaccurate these barriers are.
Guided by my work sequencing lessons in preparation for exams, within my tutoring sessions I work with my students to form a plan on how to best achieve the results (both exam based and personal) they are aiming for. This will be implemented by using strategies to build topic specific mastery, and ensuring extensive exam question practice, and also giving my students the necessary tools for them to continue to improve outside of the sessions.
