About Tom
Tom is an enthusiastic teacher who enjoys to share his love of mathematics by making it accessible via clear, intuitive explanations.
Having completed his undergraduate degree at King's College London, he is moving on to studying for his master's with a focus on algebra and geometry.

Tom has been tutoring in mathematics since the age of 18, starting while still at school with helping younger students. Since then, he has tutored both privately and as part of a team for students from the age of 11 to 18.
Specifically, that tutoring has been for GCSEs, A-levels and for the charity We Solve Problems, which aims to give students a place to explore challenging problems outside of the school classroom, and offers informal, friendly competition on a regular basis.
Tom's student's report enjoyment from learning more about the subject and regularly achieve their goal grades. His teaching approach is characterised by quickly finding the style of learning best suited to the student by means of intuitive explanations in terms they understand or are already familiar with.
We will establish topics in which the student is already proficient and use those concepts as a foundation upon which to build into the more unfamiliar areas, highlighting the connections to reinforce understanding in the process.
A personalised schedule is formed for each student, so that improvement can be measured over time, and assigments are offered as a practical and effective way to consolidate the material covered.
