About Veatriki
I am Veatriki, a recent Mathematics Graduate and currently working in the Data industry. Ever since I was very young I admired the teachers that motivated me to learn and progress in science. These were the people who opened up a new world to me, became my mentors and inspired me to be a teacher myself. Being a great teacher is not only about having expertise in the subject matter but also about inspiring, encouraging and motivating students. Provide constructive feedback Developing a positive relationship with students and parents is also a key for me as aim to build trust and comfort which would lead to greater educational outcomes. I reflect on my teaching method and seek ways to constantly improve. I am open to feedback from both students and peers and use it as an opportunity to grow. Encouraged by my profound love for mathematics, combined with my academic and professional career journey, I believe that being a teacher is the profession that brings me the closest to the science I admire and respect. Being able to transfer knowledge, share mathematical concepts and logic, develop critical thinking skills and see students progress and accelerate in their educational journey is an incredible and fulfilling opportunity.

My first step is to identify the individual needs and learning styles of my students. I conduct an initial assessment to identify their strengths and weaknesses in mathematics as well as their goals. Tailoring my teaching approach to each student is essential for their understanding and continuous improvement. The right balance of challenge and support needs to be provided so that the students can build confidence in their mathematical abilities. A personalised learning plan for each student based on the assessment ensures that I can target specific areas where the student needs improvement while also reinforcing their existing knowledge. I am very in favour of making sure students have an understanding or the reasoning, logic and importance of each mathematical concept and how it fits into the broader context of mathematics. I encourage students to ask questions as this will help them avoid learning gaps and create interactive and engaging sessions. The length of lessons is between one hour and 90 minutes, depending on the age and level. This is a good amount of time to ensure the student stays focused, the teaching material can be covered and questions can be answered. I have taught students from year 8 to high school and usually the more advanced the level is the longer is the duration of the lesson.
