About Samuel
My name is Samuel Umeh. I am an ardent tutor of Mathematics whose sole aim is to inspire the minds and hearts of my students through Mathematics, as well as to help them become analytical thinkers and problem solvers through the multifarious concepts of Mathematics. My long years (10 years) of teaching experience have yielded tremendous positive impacts in the lives of a colossal proportion of students. I am a gifted tutor who teaches students to understand the various concepts of Mathematics.

My approach to tutoring Mathematics is centred on building strong conceptual understanding, confidence, and problem-solving skills in my students. With over ten years of teaching experience, I believe that every student can succeed in Mathematics when concepts are explained clearly and lessons are tailored to their individual learning needs.
I use a structured and student-focused teaching approach that combines clear explanations, step-by-step problem solving, and practical examples. My lessons begin by assessing the student’s current level of understanding and identifying areas that need improvement. From there, I break complex topics into simple, manageable steps to ensure that students grasp the underlying concepts rather than simply memorising formulae.
During lessons, I encourage active participation by guiding students through worked examples, practice questions, and problem-solving exercises. I also use visual explanations, diagrams, and real-life applications of Mathematics to make abstract concepts easier to understand. Regular feedback and short assessments help track progress and reinforce learning.
A typical lesson usually lasts 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged if needed. Each lesson generally includes:
A brief review of previous material or homework
Explanation of new concepts
Guided practice and worked examples
Independent practice questions
I also provide additional exercises or practice questions to help students strengthen their understanding outside the lesson.
I am an experienced Mathematics tutor with over ten years of teaching experience in both classroom and one-to-one tutoring settings.
