About Xavier
My journey in mathematics began with fascination for patterns and the way logical reasoning can solve complex real-world problems. This passion led me to earn an M.Sc in Advanced Applied Mathematics, where I explored deeper analytical methods and mathematical modelling. Over the past 9 years, I have supported students in overcoming maths anxiety and building confidence through structured teaching and encouragement.
My teaching style is concept-focused, patient, and adaptable. I break down difficult problems into manageable steps and ensure students understand the logic behind each solution. I encourage questions, celebrate progress, and help learners develop independence rather than relying on memorisation.
Outside tutoring, I remain engaged with mathematics through continued study and exploring its applications in science, technology, and engineering. Teaching maths is deeply rewarding because I witness learners transform from uncertain to confident. My goal is to help students trust their thinking and succeed long-term.

Mathematics becomes much easier when students learn that it is a structured way of thinking rather than a subject of endless memorisation. In my lessons, I guide learners through algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus foundations, and statistics with calm explanation and supportive practice. I focus on helping students understand the reasoning behind every method, so they can approach problems confidently and independently. Each session builds clarity step by step, replacing anxiety with steady progress. My goal is to help learners feel capable and secure when facing mathematical challenges.
Lessons are tailored to the student’s level. Beginners strengthen arithmetic, fractions, equations, and foundational number confidence. Intermediate learners develop stronger algebraic manipulation, geometry reasoning, graph interpretation, and exam-focused strategies. Advanced students explore calculus applications, probability challenges, optimisation problems, and deeper analytical thinking. Every lesson includes practice tasks and feedback to ensure improvement feels consistent.
Maths lessons also build resilience, patience, and independent problem-solving skills. Students learn to approach challenges calmly and trust their reasoning. Many learners gain confidence across all subjects once mathematical understanding improves. My mission is to help students succeed academically while building long-term confidence in their thinking.
