About James
I hold a first class honours degree in Mathematics from the University of Southampton. There, I taught undergraduates part time, as well as a cohort of private GCSE/A-level students.
Presently, I'm teaching undergraduates part-time at Lancaster University as part of a PhD studentship.

An effective tutor is very aware of their place in the student’s education – if our lessons are supplementing a course, we'll leave no stone unturned in the material! If our goal is exam preparation, my aim is to waste no time identifying what my student needs to work on, and what they don't.
Another goal is to ensure the student isn’t left confused or overwhelmed with too much new information. Ultimately, they should be able to revisit topics confidently (instead of losing their understanding the week after).
