About Jacob
I am a PhD student in Mathematics at ASU, and I have taken and earned an A in over 20 math and physics classes. I have also been an instructors assistant, grader, and tutor for a variety of 100-200 level mathematics courses at ASU, from topics such as college algebra, discrete mathematics, and calculus.
I was the recipient of the 2024 Wexler Mathematics Award, which is the highest honor given to a student in Mathematics at ASU. I have been the lead tutor for the precalculus and calculus classes for the Joaquin Bustoz Math Science Honors Program, and my classes both averaged a grade of A+.
I also hold an incredible love for math, and for learning, and I know that a lot of people have had bad experiences with both. For this reason, I am always enthusiastic and try my hardest to make the math flow smoothly, to be kind and friendly, and to take my time to make it make sense for your own personal learning style.

Typically, I like to work one-on-one with students to identify key areas in which they are struggling. For example, it may be a problem understanding the concepts, or it may just be a small error you can't catch yourself. I am very personable, and I want to get to know you and your own learning style.
Importantly, I like to give a variety of examples targeted towards gaining understanding and showing off tricks to do problems faster and with more awareness. I also like to give visual intuition for the problems themselves in order to make them less abstract.
As a recent graduate from ASU, with a 4.0 GPA, I am the perfect fit for students in college or who are planning on attending college. With my degree, I am comfortable working with a wide range of classes: Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Discrete Math, Logic, Proofwriting, Advanced Calculus, and more!
