About Ben
I am a PhD student at the University of Bath with a deep passion for Mathematics. My academic background includes a First-Class Master's degree (MMath) in Mathematics and three A*s at A-Level, giving me a comprehensive understanding of the subject from foundational concepts to advanced topics. Beyond my own studies, I am committed to making maths accessible and engaging for others. I have valuable experience in maths outreach, where I have worked with Year 11 and Year 12 students to build both their skills and their confidence. Having seen first-hand how transformative one-on-one tutoring can be, my goal is to replicate this positive impact for my students. I work from the firm belief that any student can achieve a great grade in Maths, and I am dedicated to providing the support and guidance needed to help them reach their full potential.

My goal is to build confident, independent learners who not only know how to solve a problem but understand the logic behind it. To achieve this, my lessons are founded on the proven "Gradual Release of Responsibility" model. I structure my lessons around a simple concept: I Do, We Do, You Do. I specialise in preparing students for their secondary school level examinations and have experience tutoring GCSE Maths (Years 10-11) and A-Level Maths (Years 12-13). A typical lesson lasts between one and two hours, a timeframe that allows for in-depth learning without overwhelming the student.
