About Tom
Hi I'm Tom and I am a third-year mathematics student at the University of Cambridge! From a young age I have always enjoyed maths, however, as I have grown older I have found a passion in teaching the subject I love. I firmly believe maths is like any other subject and no-one can be "bad" at maths. It is often just the rigid system that the subject is taught in schools which makes it hard for so many. My lessons would aim to create both a passion for maths as well as a pragmatic way to do well in exams. Having just received A*'s in my Maths, Further Maths, and Physics A levels, I have strong knowledge of the exam structure, which I can pass on to my students. I also have extensive knowledge of the GCSE and 11+ syllabuses and so can adapt to learners of any level.

I can aid in whatever the pupil prefers, however I usually believe in a method in which the student gives areas of uncertainty and I form lessons around them. I think repeated practice is imperative in learning mathematics so can also set independent work if it could benefit the student.
