About Revati
Hi, I'm Revati, a mathematician and statistician studying for an MSc in Mathematics at the University of Warwick.
I became a teacher because of teachers! I've been lucky to learn from people who could take a subject that seemed like gibberish and make it clear, and (more importantly, fun). My teachers showed me that finding a subject hard usually means it hasn't been explained the right way yet, not that the student lacks ability. That's the kind of teacher I want to be for my own students.
My academic background is in mathematics and statistics, and my research is in dynamical systems and mathematical modelling. I use equations to understand how real systems behave, from ecological populations to the environment. I bring that into lessons: when students see what the mathematics is actually for, it stops being a daunting subject and starts making sense!
I'm patient, organised, and honest. I'll prefer to tell you exactly where you stand and what WE need to do to get you where you want to be. Whatever you're working towards, I'd love to help you get there!

Mathematics is more than a set of procedures to memorise; it is a way of reasoning and problem-solving. I believe that understanding WHY a method works, rather than simply applying it, builds confidence + understanding and helps students tackle unfamiliar problems (especially under exam pressure!)
I tailor lessons to each student's needs, identifying strengths, addressing gaps and working towards one's specific goals. Lessons combine clear explanations, worked examples, guided practice, and exam-style questions. I focus on developing independent problem-solving skills, avoiding common mistakes and structuring solutions to maximise marks.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, flexible sessions available for university students or intensive exam preparation. Lessons are offered online or in person in Coventry.
I am currently studying for an MSc in Mathematics at the University of Warwick and hold a First-Class BSc in Mathematics, alongside a further qualification in Statistics. I have experience tutoring secondary school and first-year university students privately, as well as teaching at the university level.
Subjects I teach include Mathematics and Science, and first-year university Mathematics and Statistics, including Calculus, Linear Algebra, Probability, Python, R, and more (please feel free to ask!)
