About Joe
Hello and welcome to my page. My name is Joe and I am excited to meet you and to find out more about your tutoring needs. I am looking to tutor maths with a focus on GCSE and A-Level students. Why me? Well I'm actually a current student myself, studying for a degree in mathematics with the Open University. Before this I have also studied some form of mathematics at University level with a previous degree in Computer Science. I have previously taught 100+ hours of lessons (python, programming...) a few years ago with another organisation. I am now looking to develop my teaching skills as an independent maths tutor. Other useful bits of information Work: I have a background in the public sector, working for the Department for Work and Pensions as a work coach. Interests: I have recently completed evening classes in beekeeping and Buddhist meditation. I am also currently spending time completing renovations on my house.

Lessons will be designed primarily on specific subjects that the student needs to work on. They will last approximately 1 hour in length. Lessons will involve the use of practice questions, discussion, worked examples etc. The important thing is I will offer a free initial lesson so that you can see whether it is a good fit for you. I will work with the student and parent to establish the aims and objectives for what they wish to get out of the tutoring process. This can involve setting objectives for measuring progress through exam practice etc. I am quite flexible in my approach.
