About Carey
I have taught for eight years, Algebra I, Algebra II, Bridge Mathematics, and Geometry. I enjoy high school mathematics the most, but I have started tutoring in the younger grades recently, as well. Furthermore, I like to incorporate science and other aspects of STEM into my mathematics teaching, because I believe it enables students to make connections to what they are learning in mathematics and will only strengthen their understanding of mathematics.

I am a life-long learner and am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in STEM Education. I try to instill this love of learning within my students as well. Mathematics tends to frustrate some people, but I believe that any student can learn mathematics if they choose to believe that they can learn. Furthermore, there are multiple ways of entering in and solving mathematics problems. All students should be encouraged to learn what works best for them and I believe this motivates them to want to learn even more.
