About Katie
I have a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Public Administration, and currently work as an Engineering Manager. I am constantly using and teaching mathematics (high school through college) in my daily job to help my Team understand and work/ solve problems based on their skillsets and education level. I constantly find myself when teaching math, trying to understand "how they learned it" or "what they know" so I can take their knowledge and develop it further to support them moving forward to the next step in understanding a problem and how to solve it. I also work with High School Students to assist with pre-calc, calc, geometry, and probability and statistics.

*I am new to the SuperProf Platform, but not new to assisting with mathematics. *
Math can be very difficult for some people, but it is not impossible! Often times, people struggle with math because they are told to solve/ use one type of method to get to a mathematical solution. However, mathematical problems typically have multiple methods or ways to get to an answer, and each person needs to find what works for them to solve a problem - math is all about thinking and problem solving. And not every person thinks or problem solves exactly the same way as their teacher/ professor tells them, and that is where I can help. I will work with you to find out how your teacher/ professor is suggesting you solve a problem, what you know and understand, and then work with you to find a better way to understand what to do to be successful in your math journey!
