About David
I have an 1972 Electrical Engineering degree and have worked in industry from 1972 to 2003 prior to pursuing a career in Education. I received a CT planned program education for Educator Certification, have taught as a CT Certified Teacher in typically populated classrooms, and have taught on a one to one teacher to student ratio for up to 8 classes at a time at a non-public school specializing in attending to individual student learning needs.

Rather than just formula/algorithm memorization, I teach for understanding, using a student's experience or current/past understandings to step to a new level, with the intent of using the new level of understanding to help remember how to solve math problems. I also try to find ways for a student to remember formulas/algorithms that they do need to memorize.

Details
My fee is charged only for actual time tutoring and not for my preparation and not for post session followup. Up to a 1/2 hour additional time to finish tutoring a concept would not be charged without permission of the client. Multiple sessions per calendar week can be subject to a 20% for the total tutoring time in that week.
