About Emery
I discovered my passion for mathematics through analyzing patterns, problem-solving, and logical reasoning. This led me to pursue an M.Sc in Mathematical Sciences, where I studied algebra, geometry, data analysis, and modeling. Over 11 years of teaching, I have helped students from elementary school math through middle school math, algebra, geometry, and SAT math, building both analytical skills and confidence. I teach with patience, clarity, and adaptability, using visual aids, structured explanations, and real-world examples to make concepts accessible. I foster curiosity, independent problem-solving, and analytical thinking in a supportive learning environment. Outside teaching, I explore advanced mathematical techniques, problem-solving strategies, and educational innovations to enrich lessons. Watching students grow in competence, confidence, and enthusiasm for mathematics is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

Mathematics becomes enjoyable when students understand the logic behind concepts instead of memorization. I begin with elementary school math, including arithmetic, number patterns, and problem-solving exercises to build a strong foundation. Learners then progress to middle school math, exploring fractions, percentages, ratios, introductory algebra, and geometry, with practical examples and stepwise explanations enhancing both understanding and confidence.
Intermediate lessons focus on linear equations, functions, coordinate geometry, multi-step word problems, and analytical reasoning. I also integrate SAT math preparation, teaching problem-solving strategies, time management, and critical thinking. Exercises emphasize reasoning, conceptual understanding, and the application of skills to unfamiliar scenarios.
Advanced lessons cover higher-order algebra, geometric proofs, data analysis, and mathematical modeling. Students are encouraged to evaluate multiple solution paths, justify reasoning, and connect concepts to real-world applications. My teaching emphasizes clarity, structured guidance, and encouragement, ensuring learners gain mastery, confidence, and a long-lasting appreciation for mathematics.
