About Matt
My passion for mathematics began with curiosity about how abstract patterns can explain real-world systems in science, technology, and daily life. I earned a B.Sc in Mathematics and later an M.Sc in Statistical Modelling, allowing me to explore both pure reasoning and applied problem-solving depth. With 8 years of teaching experience, I have supported students in achieving success through structured learning and encouragement.
I believe math education should focus on understanding, not fear. My teaching style emphasises breaking problems into manageable steps, explaining concepts clearly, and supporting students as they build confidence gradually. I adapt lessons carefully so learners feel challenged without feeling overwhelmed.
Outside tutoring, I remain connected to mathematics through modelling studies, research exploration, and continued learning. Teaching is meaningful because I witness students transform from uncertainty into confident thinkers who can approach challenges calmly and independently.

Mathematics becomes much less overwhelming when students develop true understanding instead of relying on memorised formulas. My lessons focus on guiding learners through algebra, geometry, calculus, probability, and exam problem-solving strategies with clarity and patience. I help students see mathematics as a connected system of reasoning where each skill builds naturally into the next. With supportive explanation and structured practice, learners gradually gain confidence in their ability to solve even complex problems.
Each lesson is designed around the learner’s current level. Beginners strengthen number foundations, equation solving, fractions, and logical patterns with calm reinforcement. Intermediate students develop stronger skills in functions, graph interpretation, multi-step word problems, and exam-focused methods. Advanced learners refine calculus techniques, proof-based reasoning, and analytical problem solving through deeper challenges and guided correction. My approach ensures steady progress and growing independence.
Math lessons also strengthen focus, discipline, and intellectual confidence beyond academics. Students learn to approach challenges with patience and structured thinking rather than anxiety. Over time, they begin trusting their own reasoning abilities and develop pride in solving problems independently. My goal is to help learners excel academically while building lasting mathematical confidence and enjoyment.
