About Joseph
I am currently studying Mathematics and Computer Science (BSc) at the University of Bath. Throughout school and college and now university, I have been exposed to numerous ways of teaching and learning Mathematics and preparing for exams and therefore I know which ones are most effective.
I love being able to share my passion for Mathematics with others, as well as all the tips I have picked up through learning "the hard way", meaning that you don't have to! :)

Who are my lessons for?
• All learners of GCSE Mathematics
• All exam boards
• I have additional experience with the WJEC exam board, as well as Mathematics - Numeracy offered by WJEC
My approach.
• I encourage my students to avoid memorising unmeaningful processes and formulae, an ineffective approach often adopted in schools!
• I explain the meaning and basis behind everything we do, a mindset which has been pivotal to my success in all of my studies and especially Maths.
• I ensure that all content is focused on what **actually** comes up in exams and I phrase exercises in a similar way in order to familiarise students with exam questions from day one and to help them succeed.
• All lessons are hands-on - giving things a go and making mistakes is the best way to learn!
• I adapt all my lessons to my students' needs and what they are struggling with the most.
My experience.
• Tutoring Mathematics since 2019
• Some previous students have achieved results 3 grades higher than they were initially predicted.
• Achieved A* (9) in both Mathematics and Mathematics - Numeracy (WJEC) at GCSE.
• Achieved A* in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics at A level.
• I am therefore well-acquainted with the skills and mindset you need to succeed in school exams, and I am eager to pass them on!
