About Lily
Previously, I have taught Mathematics in primary schools and secondary schools, both in groups and individually. For example, in Year 12 I helped Year 5 students with completing the Junior Maths Challenge. This allowed them to challenge themselves beyond the National Curriculum and learn new topics such as quadratics equations and simultaneous equations, which are normally learnt at GCSE. Additionally, participating in the Future Teaching Scholars, a new route into teaching, has given me experience in working in classrooms with students and teaching them Maths in addition to researching what makes teaching effective.

Generally, I work topic by topic, based on the students strengths and weaknesses. When starting, I give students a clear explanation of theorems and try to prove them if I can, especially since the new specifications require more justification. Normally, I will encourage students to highlight important pieces of information so that it's easier to refer back to. Then, working through exercises and practise exam questions in that topic helps them refine their skills.

Details
My rates may vary depending on the level of Mathematics required as it becomes harder to find better resources as students progress. Sessions should be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance and I should be given a notice of such sessions at least 48 hours in advance.
