Maths and Chemistry Tutor; Cambridge Masters Graduate - Maths and Chemistry tutor with Navyaa

I have known Navyaa for 8 months since she began volunteering for the STIMULUS programme. STIMULUS creates volunteer placements for Cambridge University students in local schools. Through the STIMULUS project, University of Cambridge students provide support for learning in mathematics, science, technology and computing. I am the co-ordinator of the programme.

Navyaa has volunteered in two schools and has received favourable feedback. She is reliable, conscientious and keen to help others. She is very knowledgeable and has good interpersonal skills.

At the start of the volunteering programme, Navyaa attended a Safeguarding and Child Protection briefing and an enhanced DBS check was carried out. Navyaa has shown a good understanding of safeguarding issues.

Navyaa has been a very supportive and keen volunteer who has agreed to be a college representative for STIMULUS, encouraging other students to join the programme.

Navyaa attended regular weekly sessions with A level Physics students over the period of a term, she has an excellent presence and manner with the students who are all needing some addition tutoring to understand the subject more clearly. Navyaa was able to motivate students to organise their work and revision programme, to complete work as well as possible and to achieve an improved level of grasp of the concepts. Navyaa is very well suited to a tutoring teaching role.
