About Jim
I am a third-year General Engineering Student specialising in Energy and Sustainability Engineering at the University of Sheffield. I really enjoy using maths and physics in my studies. I have taken a number of maths modules within my degree, and have a strong understanding of the concepts discussed in A level and GCSE. I really enjoy explaining things, and try to do so in a different way than would be done at school. The lessons I give tend to be quite unstructured with the aim of ensuring that they are led, in terms of topic, by the student. I try to stay flexible, while still focusing on the key aspect of a topic a student is struggling with. Qualifications: Current third-year General Engineering (MEng) student at The University of Sheffield A levels: Maths A*, Physics A*, History A*, EPQ A* 1 11 GCSEs grade 7-9, including Further Maths Experience tutoring GCSE maths grades 1-9

I ensure my lessons are a friendly and welcoming environment for students to learn in. I focus on working through questions with students in lessons with a focus on previous exam questions. I have a stylus that I write with during lessons to show students my calculation method. I also help students with exam and revision technique to ensure that they reach their full potential. Lessons tend to be an hour length, but I am flexible with the length and time schedule to fit each student's needs. My previous experience is tutoring GCSE maths and further maths throughout the range of grades. I have helped students go from grade 6 to 8 in a couple of months before their exams. I have also helped students that have Dyscalculia with grasping the most basic concept. Happy to tutor any range from pre-GCSE to A level. Most experienced in GCSE.
