About Thomas
I am a student at the University of Manchester studying maths and physics, with an interest in other subjects such as chemistry, philosophy and computer science. I am friendly, patient and encouraging, with a passion for mathematics and physics.
Just recently I taught myself the A level curriculum for both subjects via textbooks and online resources and so I am the perfect person to go on and spread my knowledge and passion onto other students who could have a futures in these subjects, or to anyone who just really needs help with these difficult concepts and methods.
I am never harsh or negative with my feedback as research shows positive reinforcement and healthy learning are the best ways a student grows, and this is what I wish to encourage.

My lessons are structured around increasing the grades of the student, via understanding of concepts and how to answer questions, while also providing knowledge to further their understanding and to enable them to engage in their own extracurricular learning.
My lessons are typically 1 hour long, although 2 hours are welcomed, and can either be face to face or online. I will start with an introduction lesson to gauge where the student is with their studying and cater later lessons to suit them. I will have an emphasis on answering questions as this is the best way to improve the students understanding.
I mainly teach high school and sixth-form although any lower level I can also teach. I am currently an undergraduate at the University of Manchester studying for a masters in mathematics and physics. I have tutored for GCSE and A-level maths and physics for over a year and have been well received by my students, and thanked for helping to achieve greater understanding and higher grades.
