About Elis
Hi! I’m a 14-year-old student who enjoys maths and helping others understand it better. I’ve taken part in several maths competitions and earned multiple accolades, including a Silver award in the Junior Maths Challenge Kangaroo.
I’m also a Grade 6 pianist, which has helped me develop discipline, focus, and patience — skills that I also use when tutoring. I enjoy explaining things clearly and helping students build confidence in maths. Since I’m close in age to my students, I understand what school maths is like and aim to make lessons friendly, relaxed, and easy to understand.

When I tutor, I try to make maths as easy and understandable as possible. I explain things step by step and use simple examples so it doesn’t feel confusing or stressful. I’m patient and I don’t mind explaining something again if someone doesn’t get it the first time. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions.
In lessons, we go over topics from school, practise questions together, and focus on the parts the student finds hardest. I explain things in a way that I would want them explained to me.
Each lesson is 45 minutes long and happens once a week.
I’ve done some maths tutoring before and have helped students understand topics better. Since I’m close in age, I understand what students find tricky at school and can explain it in a simple way.
My lessons are for high primary and lower secondary students, around ages 11–13, who want extra help or more confidence in maths.
