About Veena
I have twelve years of experience teaching Math and have supported students of varying ages and abilities. My teaching philosophy emphasizes patience, clarity, and adaptability, allowing learners to progress at a comfortable pace while building both competence and confidence. I create lessons that balance structured guidance with opportunities for independent exploration, fostering curiosity, analytical thinking, and a love for learning. In my Maths lessons, I combine topics across elementary school math, middle school math, algebra, geometry, and SAT math in a way that is meaningful and interconnected. Lessons begin with foundational concepts such as arithmetic, fractions, ratios, basic operations, and number sense, helping students gain confidence while developing problem-solving skills. I emphasize understanding the reasoning behind each method, using step-by-step explanations and real-world examples to make mathematics tangible and approachable.
As students advance, we integrate algebraic expressions, multi-step equations, geometric applications, and word problems alongside SAT-focused strategies. I encourage learners to think critically, make connections between topics, and approach problems systematically. By weaving together concepts from different mathematical areas, students develop the flexibility to apply knowledge in new situations and see patterns that link topics from elementary arithmetic to advanced problem-solving.
Advanced sessions focus on complex multi-step problems, integrated problem-solving, and preparing for exams. Students learn to develop strategies for tackling unfamiliar questions, think logically under pressure, and apply multiple concepts in combination. My goal is to provide a supportive and structured environment where learners gain mastery, confidence, and an appreciation for the beauty and logic of mathematics.
