About Jenan
I am an accomplished barrister with a science background and over 15 years experience doing one to one tutoring in a variety of subjects at primary level including all core subjects with an emphasis on maths and science up to GCSE.
I have a particular aptitude for helping students who are finding academics, in general, especially challenging and/or having major confidence issues or dealing with learning disabilities.

I firmly believe that lack of confidence is one of the most debilitating obstacles to success and self-esteem and so I aim to help students build their confidence as well as their academics which invariably allows them to realise untapped potential, often far more than anyone ever thought possible.
Although I do not have any formal teaching qualifications I do have experience and an excellent record of success tutoring boys and girls on the ADD and ADHD spectrum. My Psychology degree electives focused on educational and developmental psychology including helping kids coping with ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and Asbergers/autism. Unfortunately main stream education cannot afford to tailor teaching to the individual but the one size fits all approach is usually insufficient or sometimes actually damaging to these kids who often never know they have potential far beyond that which is realized without the right approach. The majority of the Special needs students I tutored made leaps in progress once the sessions were adapted to suit them- and for me there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child achieve goals that nobody thought possible (which would not have been possible without 1:1 tutoring).
I tell students that "I don't know" is the beginning of knowledge and understanding so you should never be afraid to say that: but "i can't" is the path to failure. There is no shame in being wrong, it's only failure if you give up at the first hurdle. I want my students to assume they can do anything until proven otherwise,
