About Lauren
I achieved 4 A*s at A-level in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science and also completed the MAT and TMUA entrance exams, which enabled me to receive an offer from Oxford University to study Maths. I have 3 years’ experience tutoring maths and science, and have always loved teaching and explaining concepts to others. Throughout sixth form I ran a maths and physics club for younger students, and additionally I was a Curriculum Captain. As a part of this role I organised and ran a successful maths week: “I’m a Mathematician get me out of here!”, for the rest of the school, which hundreds of students came along to and thoroughly enjoyed. These experiences helped me understand how to make maths understandable and accessible to all ages and abilities, as well as fun! I am now a Mathematics student at the University of Bath, and have achieved a first class grade in every module so far. The excellent Mathematics department here constantly inspires me to teach in different ways and keep my tutoring sessions both engaging and effective.
