About Cal
I am 25 years old and currently studying under the tutelage of New Zealand's poet laureate. Most recently, I have received an award in 2025 in the Dunedin Public Library's Robert Burns poetry competition. I am currently working on publishing a poetry book, as well as writing a fantasy novel to make my nerd of a father proud of me. I am dyslexic and autistic, so I understand how challenging English can be as a subject, but if I can overcome my adversities, then I assure you, you can too, and I'm armed with a full artillery of skills and tactics to help you get there.
Writing is a fantastic art form, that I would argue is fundamental to living a fulfilling life -- I can't wait to share this joy with you.

Study sessions that fit to your learning style and level of experience. Depending on what you are looking for, we can focus on the analysis of writing and/or the fundamentals of creative writing/poetry. Typically, we would spend an hour discussing and working on any projects you have coming up, and help you to understand what makes good writing good writing.
I am available to tutor all ages and levels of English from NCEA level 1, all the way up to undergraduate studies.
