About Adetoro
I a MBA graduate that has 3-5 years teaching experience in math related subjects. My tutoring experience starts in undergraduate where I tutored students calculus I. I create the lesson plans, secured a location and provided additional assistance in HW. I also tutored in calculus III on a one to one basis and prepared a student for final exam. I tutored two student in statistics and would go over the process(steps) on how to do the HW. In graduate school I tutored students in statistics, marketing forecasting and analytics and experimental design. I would go step by step how to complete HW and projects and explain concepts further. Currently I'm tutoring an 8th grader in Algebra I. I provide practice problems based on school curriculum, prepped him for Algebra I EOC/STAAR , went over exams and HWs.

I explain a step by step process usually written down for better memorization. I like to provide additional resources if child is struggling in session especially struggling is in math foundation. When I work a math problem with child I will usually show them the steps and verbally explain what I'm doing and also write it down. I then have the child do it themselves while I guide them verbally through the process and correcting any mistakes I see. I then have child do problem completely by themselves and have them write each step out that way I can identify any problem areas I see in their problem solving. I do a positive reinforcement system where I provide the child with patience and constant verbal praise. Math is a subject in which people strongly believe some people are just born math people: this notation is incorrect, math competency is about practice and perseverance. Children who struggle with math generally have self-confidence issues, self-doubt and they are always doubling guessing themselves. They might know the answer but because they doubt themselves they will double guess themselves into a frenzy. I like to praise kids on what they do well and use that to build confidence and self-efficacy. I will also rewards (snacks or prizes) in the next session if I felt like child did particularly well in the last session.

Details
$20.00 per hour for students who are middle school and above. $15.00 per hour for students in elementary school. I do offer money back guarantee if you felt like second or subsequent sessions did not go well. Refunds claims must be made a week after the session or you will be declined. I'm available for scram sessions ( tutor session 1-3 days before the exam, project or final) but depending on closeness of the date and scope of the test rates may increase to $30 per hour for middle schoolers and above and $25 per hour for elementary students. I only offer 1hr, 1.5hr , 2hr , 3hr sessions. We can do one session at time booking or have a schedule in advance. Please note that booking one session at time does not guarantee availability at that time.
