About AMARNATH
Hi, I'm Amarnath — an MBBS student and a passionate chess player with a FIDE rating of 1600 and a 2000+ rating online. Chess has been a big part of my life for years, and I've had the opportunity to compete in several tournaments, which has given me a deep, practical understanding of the game beyond just theory.
Balancing medical school with chess isn't always easy, but I make it a point to carve out time for the game I love, no matter how packed my schedule gets. That passion is exactly why I enjoy coaching,
Over the past two years, I've taught students of different ages and skill levels, and what I enjoy most is watching that moment when a concept finally clicks for someone. I believe good coaching isn't about showing off how much you know — it's about explaining things clearly, patiently, and in a way that actually makes sense to the person learning.
My goal is simple: to make learning chess enjoyable, structured, and genuinely rewarding — one step at a time.

I teach through a simple, structured approach — starting with the fundamentals (piece movement, basic tactics, checkmate patterns) before moving into openings and strategy. Each session includes live examples on an interactive board, guided practice where students find ideas themselves, and a few puzzles to reinforce the concept. I keep pace flexible based on the student's level, and give light homework between sessions to build consistency.
