My Teaching Methodology
As an MBBS student and Biology tutor, I understand that Biology can sometimes feel like a subject filled with endless terms and memorization. My teaching approach is different — I focus on helping students understand the concept first and memorize it naturally afterward.
I break complex topics into simple, easy-to-follow explanations and connect them to real-life examples and clinical situations that I encounter during my medical studies. This helps students understand why something happens rather than simply remembering what happens.
My methodology focuses on:
* Concept-based learning: Building a strong foundation instead of encouraging rote memorization.
* Simple explanations: Breaking complicated biological processes into clear, manageable steps.
* Visual learning: Using diagrams, flowcharts, and comparisons to make difficult concepts easier to remember.
* Active recall: Regularly asking students questions during the lesson instead of making the class one-sided.
* Exam-oriented teaching: Identifying what students actually need to know for their exams and teaching them how to approach questions.
* Personalized teaching: Adapting my pace and explanation style according to each student’s level and learning needs.
* Medical connections: As an MBBS student, I can connect biology concepts with human anatomy, physiology, and basic clinical examples, making the subject more meaningful and interesting.
My goal is not simply to finish a chapter. I want my students to reach the point where they can explain the concept themselves.
I believe that when a student can teach the concept back to me in their own words, I have truly done my job as a tutor.
