My teaching methods for lower level college and high school students starts with emphasis on the physical meaning behind the numbers. I make sure I don't go over too much too soon for each step but I do as many steps as needed to cover the subject completely. I then set up a practice problems so it becomes second nature.
A typical lesson plan goes over what the subject means and how the equations show it. Then I go over the equations they present and as a coach she or he solves the problem. I then leave the student with problems to practice. What I try to avoid is the student doing all the homework in front of me. I only want to address what the student does not know. I dont want to be paid to babysit as they do homework they already understand.
What sets me apart from other tutors is my lifetime experience in the application of the subject matter and what is in the minds of the students having trouble with the subject matter. If given a chance I will give you results.
