About Isaac
I am currently studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Exeter. I achieved A* in Maths GCSE and A at A level. I was fortunate enough to have an amazing tutor who helped me have a comprehensive understanding of the necessary topics and be able to apply this to questions in exam conditions. In the past I have helped friends' younger siblings and found it incredibly rewarding when they grasped the concept. I believe that anyone can understand maths, the barrier may be that it needs to be explained in an alternative way. In addition to understanding maths concepts, creating revision material, honing executive functioning and organisational skills and understanding exam technique are necessary to achieving great results. Throughout my time both in education and University, I have loved the challenge of solving problems. In my spare time I love to play sport and when not playing I am likely to be watching it! I would love the opportunity to have a meeting so that you can get to know me and my character - I know that it is really important to feel at ease with a tutor!

I believe in adapting each lesson to the specific student, however the basic plan of the lesson will be to primarily identify any areas in which the student is struggling. Then I will cover these topics, provide examples and assist the student in completing exam style questions as this is the best method to ensure the knowledge taken on board. The typical length of a lesson is 1h as I feel like they are the most productive. I have been tutoring A-level, GCSE and KS3 Maths for almost a year now and have really enjoyed the process to getting students to feel confident with maths.

I have experienced Isaac tutoring GCSE student - he builds a rapport quickly and inspires the student to aim for their best rather than settle for a pass. He questions the student to draw the answer out of them rather than giving them the answer, again building confidence. Great to have someone who helps the student believe in their own ability!
Isaac was my sisters tutor throughout her GCSE's for Maths and Physics and really gave her the confidence to go into achieve a 9. I would highly recommend Isaac as he is passionate, attentive and really cares for his students.
