Institute
:
IITM is one of the well Known higher learning institutes in INDIA. IIT is involved in training and development of manpower apart from research and development in science and technology.
Dissertation topic
:
Dynamic analysis of Shells of Revolution.
(Major: Shell Vibration).
Achievements : Shells are very widely used structures in aerospace and automobiles. The analysis is concentrated for composite shells.
: The objective of this research is to investigate vibration behaviour of laminated tapered composite structures.
: This mainly involves in the understanding of vibration behavior of different types of configurations, geometric as well as material
Shells made of composite materials are analyzed for their dynamic characteristics using different shell theories. One thin and two thick shell theories are used for the solution. Various other effects like the coupling due to anisotropy of the shell material, material damping, and rotational effects also studied. A limited study on response behavior of shell due to impact load also conducted. For all these studies a semi-analytical finite element method is used as the solution procedure. The element properties and corresponding matrices are derived and coded in the computer and solved for various characteristics.
Completed the Research and the Institute awarded the diploma. I have got number of publications in international journals out of this research.
