About Nasrin
Hi! I’m Nasrin. I’m a strong believer that education should be enjoyable, and that learning is an inherently rewarding process — even if it doesn’t always feel like that. Through my own years of studying and teaching, I’ve come to understand what truly helps students succeed. The tools and techniques aren’t a secret — but it does make a difference when someone lays them out clearly and supports you in using them. My teaching style is highly interactive. I don’t just deliver information — I guide students to think critically and draw their own conclusions. I might explain a concept, then ask a question that encourages you to connect the dots yourself. I’m very much against simply “spewing facts” — because that only strengthens my memory, not yours. My goal is to help you succeed in Biology and Chemistry, but also to equip you with the mindset and methods to thrive in your studies — and actually enjoy the process along the way.

I focus on both teaching subject content and helping students learn how to study effectively. My approach is inspired by university-style teaching methods that encourage independent thinking and long-term academic success. I aim not only to help students achieve top grades, but also to build confidence and enjoyment in the subjects. Each student receives access to a personal spreadsheet and shared drive, where homework is set and self-marked. This allows students to track their progress, identify areas of weakness, and reflect on their learning. I review all work before each lesson and tailor the session to focus on the topics students found most challenging, while also revisiting easier material to strengthen retention and prevent forgetting. The spreadsheet becomes a valuable resource during revision and exam preparation. Lesson lengths are flexible and can range from 45 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on your needs. I’ve previously tutored a GCSE student who achieved a grade 9, and I’ve developed these study strategies through my own experience as a medical student. I’m confident they can help you excel in Biology and Chemistry — and enjoy learning along the way. I currently teach students working towards their GCSEs or A-levels. I offer Biology at A-level, and both Biology and Chemistry at GCSE level.
