About Jacob
I am a medical student at Newcastle University with 2 years of tuition experience for Biology and Chemistry at levels from KS3 to A-Level. I am passionate about these subjects and hope to help students gain a deeper appreciation and insight into these subjects.
I scored 3120 in my UCAT (top 2% UK) and am able to provide 1-1 tuition for the exam as well as medical school interview preparation.

Studying Science at GCSE and A-Level standards requires thorough subject knowledge coupled with the ability to answer exam questions. Therefore, it is necessary that students not only know their subject but understand mark schemes.
Each lesson will take 1 hour and cover a specific subject, typically what a student may be currently covering in class. The first 30 minutes will be primarily knowledge assimilation via mediums such as powerpoint and digital whiteboard, followed by 25 minutes of exam-board specific topic questions.
The final 5 minutes will consist of summarising the session and setting a homework assignment for the next week. This will typically consist of completing a certain amount of past paper questions, which is by far the best form of revision for exams.
Full notes and powerpoint resources for each session will be provided along with a custom-made digital flashcard deck to review concepts using active recall and spaced repetition, proven techniques to maximise information retention. A few weeks before exams, I will provide all students with a customisable revision timetable to help them score as highly as possible.
I scored grade 9 in Chemistry, Biology and Physics and tutored those subjects for two years, helping students move from scoring 4/5 at GCSE to 8/9 grades and AS students from C to A grades. My lessons are for students in secondary school and college who are keen to improve their Science grade and obtain a more in-depth understanding of this incredible subject.
