About Lily
I am currently studying Medicine at the University of Southampton, hoping to be a paediatric consultant or a surgeon in the future. As a student who received 3/4 Medicine offers to study Medicine, I am able to offer advice on applications to medical school in addition to academic support for those interested in studying Medicine in the future.
I have been a volunteer leader with Girlguiding for the past 5 years, so I have lots of experience working with young people of all ages, and through becoming a Peer Educator I have developed my teaching strategies.
In Chemistry, I achieved grade 9 at GCSE and A at A-Level. I am also offering Biology tutoring, and am happy to combine Biology and Chemistry teaching if you would like both! :)

I am a medical student offering tutoring for GCSE and A-Level students or secondary school years 7-9 in Biology. I achieved GCSE grade 9 and A-Level grade A* in Biology recently (A-Levels 2025).
Sessions available online or in-person. I have experience with children of all ages, and am DBS checked.
I tailor my sessions to each individual student, working on the topics they struggle with most. Each session will contain a mixture of explaining content and practising with questions to secure their understanding. At the end of each session, I will ask the student which areas they would like me to cover next, allowing me to prepare an in-depth lesson to improve their understanding. I am friendly and approachable, so students can ask me any questions!
I am most experienced with Edexcel GCSE and OCR B (Salters) A-Level Chemistry specifications, but am able to adapt content to fit all exam boards. OCR B A-Level Chemistry is a unique specification that not many tutors are familiar with, but having studied it myself (exams 2025), I am very familiar and can tailor lessons to it or to other exam boards based on your needs.

Lily and I are both medical students, and she helped me with pharmacology when I was struggling with it.
What I appreciated most about her teaching was how she broke down complex topics into simple, easy to understand concepts. She took the time to make sure I genuinely understood everything. Her explanations of antibacterial drugs and their mechanisms of action were especially amazing, she used drawings, diagrams, and memorable techniques that helped me understand.
One thing that really stands out about Lily is how patient she is. She never rushed through topics and was always happy to explain things until they made sense.
I would highly recommend Lily to anyone looking for a patient, knowledgeable, and engaging tutor!
