About Caitlin
Hello! I'm Caitlin, a third year student studying to be a doctor at the University of Birmingham. I'm passionate about mentoring younger pupils through their difficult subjects, to help them achieve their goals like I am mine. With over four years of tutoring experience, I’ve honed my skills in both group and one-on-one settings. My journey began at MillieWhizz Ltd, where I received comprehensive training in lesson planning, effective communication, and problem-solving techniques. As a personal tutor, I've successfully supported students in various subjects. For instance, I prepared a Year 5 student for a prestigious secondary school entrance exam in Mathematics, resulting in a successful outcome. I've also tutored GCSE and A-level Chemistry and Mathematics, helping students achieve significant improvements. I'm confident in this ability, fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.

My approach to tutoring is centred on fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment where students can thrive. I believe in tailoring my teaching methods to each student's individual needs and learning style, ensuring a personalised and effective learning experience. My typical lesson structure involves a combination of: Clear Explanations: I break down complex concepts into easily understandable steps, using clear and concise language. Interactive Activities: I incorporate a variety of activities, such as quizzes, puzzles, and real-world problem-solving exercises, to actively engage students in the learning process. Practice and Feedback: I provide ample opportunities for students to practise applying what they've learned, offering constructive feedback to help them improve. Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, but I'm flexible and can adjust the duration based on the student's needs and preferences. I have 4 years of experience tutoring students privately of various ages and academic levels. I am studying Medicine at the University of Birmingham where I also mentor students through the application process. My passion for teaching and my dedication to helping students succeed drive my approach to tutoring. My lessons are suitable for students of all ages and levels, from primary school to GCSE/A-level. I can assist with a wide range of subjects, including: Mathematics: SATs, 11+, Entrance exams Science: Biology, Chemistry (A-level) physics (GCSE) English Language Arts: Reading comprehension, writing skills, grammar, and vocabulary for SATs and entrance exams I'm committed to creating a positive and productive learning environment where students can develop their skills, build confidence, and achieve their academic goals.
