About Maryam
I am a Third year medical student at UCL currently intercalating in Cardiovascular Sciences. At A-level I took Chemistry, Biology and Maths where I achieved A*'s in all subjects. At GCSE I achieved 8 9's and 8 8's. I thoroughly enjoyed my studies especially in sciences and maths whilst at school and would love to share this enthusiasm to help other students realise their full potential. I also have experience tutoring, as I have worked at Explore Learning tutoring students aged 4-11 in maths and literacy which taught me so many valuable lessons about teaching regardless the subject matter and strengthened my teaching ability. I also tutor at university as I am a pre-clinical educations officer for UCL Neurology and Neurosurgery society, this means helping run tutorials throughout the year for younger students. Teaching is something that I genuinely enjoy, learning more about the subject yourself whilst helping make it easier for students is extremely rewarding and I would be more than happy to help any student with any problem.

It is important to fully understand the basic concepts first and then we will work our way up from there to more complex concepts. As well as this I believe answering practice questions is the best way to solidify knowledge and ensure it is retained, so I will be using a lot of practice questions, both active recall and longer more written out style questions. Most importantly I will encourage any question and constantly work collaboratively with the student to understand the depth of their knowledge and ensure they are happy.
