About Harjot
Hi! I'm currently studying Graduate Entry Medicine. My undergraduate degree was in Medical Genetics (BSc) & graduated with a high 2:1. I was paid by my previous school to tutor GCSE Biology & Chemistry. I was previously paid by my secondary school to tutor GCSE Biology & Chemistry. Privately, I have tutored A-level biology students, 11+ students, and GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics students. Additionally, I am well versed with the process of getting into medicine, including the UCAT and interview process.

I like to know what the student (you) would like to go through before the session and their exam board as I prefer to work from the exam board specification to avoid covering unnecessary information or not covering the key details. I am a strong believer in active recall so end most of my tutoring sessions with a sort exam question style quiz to recap what the student has retained and what areas may still be weak. The weak areas are then reviewed together at the start of the next session. However, I know many people may have anxiety around being tested so this can be discussed during our first session together. To combat this I do try making most quizzes multiple choice at the start whilst building confidence around a topic.
