Whether they need top grades for university or just some extra clarity to get through the year without the stress, I’m here to help.
My name is Ian and I’m a 3rd year medical student at the University of Glasgow. Having navigated the system recently, I don’t just teach the topics - I share the exact study frameworks, revision timetables, and active recall techniques that helped me succeed:
My Tutoring Approach & Experience
Over the last two academic years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting 7 high school students, logging over 115 hours of 1-to-1 teaching.
Since every student processes topics differently, I ensure our sessions are highly personalised, taking the time to target pain points. To build long-term understanding over the year, I:
- Interleave topics to improve recall throughout the year
- Synchronise with student’s school learning to account for school tests
- Provide constructive feedback on homework so they know exactly where marks are awarded
- Focus heavily on exam prep and managing time stress as exams draw near
A typical lesson will include a starter or homework review, followed by targeted question practice on key topics to master concepts and build confidence.
