About Archana
I am a medical student currently in my second year. Having previously had 2 jobs in the teaching sector, I have worked with groups of children up to 6. I have helped children with exams such as 11 plus, GCSE's and A Levels attain grades they've been predicted or higher. Teaching children has always been a strong point because I find working with children really exciting. I like helping them, making them feel more confident about the subject and most of all aiding them to overcome their doubts and excelling at the subject to become a well-rounded individual.
Also being a student myself who has gone through these exams, I have experience in what children have to do in order to train to pass. I can also help them in learning different techniques to tackle hard questions, whether it be science or maths.

I am a university student offering lessons in maths and science from the ages of 4 to 18. I have worked with individual students and groups of children and have developed particular strategies to deal with the challenges of both. My teaching methods entail using worksheets and visual aids as I believe that children learn the best interactively. I will also provide my own notes in a simplified form of what the child has to know, showing demonstrations/examples of particular questions which are easy to follow. I structure my classes by giving a brief overview of what the lesson will consist of, then explaining what the task is and seeing if the child has any prior knowledge, then letting them attempt the task and helping them when they need it most. I believe it is important to let the child have a go for themselves before stepping in. Throughout the lesson, I will use resources that I have made myself to keep the child engaged. Also before the session, I will run through what the child has to know before I teach them to familiarise myself with the content as much as possible.
