About Laura
I am an assistant biology professor at a local college, where I teach general biology, microbiology, and anatomy with physiology courses to college and high school students. I have been teaching biological sciences for over 25 years, and I have a master's degree in public health with a focus on epidemiology and infectious diseases. I passed the USMLE Step 1 during my years in allopathic medical school at the University of South Florida College of Medicine.
My mission is to inspire and empower my students to appreciate and explore the wonders of biology, and to prepare them for their academic and professional goals. I am a MENSA inductee and a lifelong learner, and I strive to share my joy and enthusiasm for biology with my students.

PURPOSE: For College-level students needing a solid review of General Biology I concepts; pre-professional, pre-medical healthcare students
APPROACH: I do like the Socratic style of teaching. I utilize it consistently. The instructor must always be eager to also be a student; lifelong learning is inevitable. The belief that a teacher learns more from their students than the students do from their instructors is true for dedicated educators and professors.
My 3 years of medical school experience sets me apart as I have been through many of the same struggles as students are going through with key knowledge of what Instructors are looking for in terms of both Exam and knowledge success.
