About Leah
My greatest objective as your tutor will be to build your confidence and provide a shame free environment where you can ask any/all questions you have about concepts you're currently struggling to understand.
My passion for teaching is partially derived from my own neuro-diversity; I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) as an adult and my, sometimes frustrating, in classroom experiences during my K-12 years fuel my drive to help young learners who are falling behind.
Our sessions will be a judgement free zone and I will work diligently to support you exactly where you're at so that you can reach your goals and continue to love learning for a lifetime!

Sometimes subjects and concepts just take longer to "click" and everyone learns just a little bit differently. As your tutor, I'm here to figure out your ideal learning style, slow things down, and relieve some of the burden of trying to grapple with new subjects alone. As a student, I often found myself needing to ask for help with classes I found less than interesting. I remember how helpful it was to have someone lend a compassionate, helping hand when I needed extra support.
I will:
-Identify gaps in your current lesson plan
-Construct lessons that appeal to your interests and play to your strengths
-Accommodate different learning styles
-These lessons will be best suited for students in grades 4-8 who are seeking extra help with reading and english.
