About Alno
I am a microbiologist by training and am passionate about nature and biology. I have a BSc in Human Life Science focusing on physiology, microbiology, genetics and biochemistry. My BScHons and MSc degrees focused on Microbiology. I am currently finishing my PhD in environmental Microbiology. I have been involved in multiple teaching roles tutoring practical laboratory lessons at university in both English and Afrikaans. I am patient and love teaching people new things, thus my interest in becoming a tutor.

I am very patient and believe that the best way to truly understand a subject is to understand the broader picture. This is especially important in biology as one system is always involved in the next. I am proficient in both Afrikaans and English. Students should indicate what specific areas they would like to focus on and can expect that we will cover the material in detail until they understand it completely. All students are welcome.
