About Caitlin
Hi!
I’m Caitlin, I’m 22. I'm a molecular biology graduate and science enthusiast. I am currently taking a gap year and working as a healthcare assistant before starting graduate entry medicine in September.
I have been a tutor on and off for six years and have helped many students increase their confidence and achieve their desired grades at GCSE, A level, and university level exams.
Having been through the UCAS process twice (gaining multiple offers on both occasions) I'm more than happy to share my experiences with university applications, interviews, and the UKCAT.
When I’m not tutoring, I enjoy being outdoors and active, my favourite hobbies being horse riding, hiking, and yoga. I also love to travel – I enjoy seeing amazing places and experiencing new cultures. So far in 2018, I have visited Italy and India.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you gain confidence and improve your grades!

I have a very friendly tutoring style because I believe it is important that my students are comfortable working with me and feel able to discuss any area they are struggling with and that they don't worry about asking 'silly questions' (there's no such thing!).
Before the first tutor session, I like to arrange a short meeting with you to discuss what you want to achieve from your sessions with me. I like to ask which exam board you are studying and which topics you would like help with so we can start our first session with specific aims in mind.
I know from experience that everyone learns differently and identifying a learning technique that suits us as individuals can make a big difference to our learning and to our exam performance. I like to work with you to understand your strengths and interests to find techniques that work well for you and adapt my teaching and learning exercises accordingly.
I also like to work with past papers, having myself found them incredibly useful when studying for exams, from GCSEs through to university finals! I hope to teach you various ways you can use past papers to aid your learning to improve both your understanding and your exam technique.
At the end of each session, we will recap what we have learned and see how comfortable you now feel with the topic. I like to start the next session with a quick review of the previous one to check your progress and confidence.

Details
I understand that sometimes circumstances change and that sometimes lesson times may have to change. However, I do put time into planning my lessons and arranging my travel. I kindly ask for 24 hours notice to cancel face-to-face lessons and 12 hours to cancel webcam lessons. Lessons canceled after this time period will be charged at half rate. I am happy to reschedule lessons (online or in person) at no extra charge with a few hours notice (though note, the earlier you let me know, the better chance we have at arranging the best new time for you!)
