About Amira

Hi, I'm Amira, a Bachelor of Arts student at Monash University majoring in Human Rights, on the pre-law pathway. I've run community children's classes since 2021 and currently facilitate a youth program for early high schoolers, and I've grown up helping my younger sisters and cousins with their reading and writing. I like working with kids, and I'm patient, encouraging and good at explaining things in a way that makes sense to them.

About the lesson

I start every student with a quick check of where they're at and what they're working on at school, then build lessons around that instead of following a set script. Sessions are relaxed but structured, with a clear goal each time, and I make worksheets and reading logs to suit each student. I keep things encouraging so kids feel comfortable having a go, asking questions and getting things wrong while they learn.
